Approach
Philippa Dytham-Double started Double Image in Nottingham in 2002, and has been photographing here ever since. Twenty years on, the aim has not really changed: a natural, unhurried session that gets at the personality rather than arranging one.
Most people arrive saying they hate having their photograph taken. Children go quiet, adults go stiff, and dogs do as they please. That is normal, and the session is built around it: take the time, keep it light, and wait for the frame worth keeping.
The studio holds a range of backgrounds and lighting set-ups, along with props and costumes, and you are welcome to bring your own. Alongside portraits the studio takes on commercial work: products, business and promotional photography, and injury reporting.
